Waverly Advisors Supports The Exceptional Foundation’s 17th Annual Chili Cook-Off
Waverly Advisor’s Homewood office is proud to announce that recently they helped sponsor The Exceptional Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, the 17th Annual MortgageBanc Chili Cook-Off.
The Exceptional Foundation is a nonprofit that was established in 1993 in Birmingham, serving individuals with special needs by providing social and recreational activities to satisfy needs that are not met by the community at large. They currently serve and provide year-round services to over 700 individuals with special needs, ranging from age 5 to 81.
The 17th Annual MortgageBanc Chili Cook-Off took place on Saturday, May 1st, and many of Waverly Advisor’s financial advisors and professionals were in attendance at the sponsored tent. There were 750 attendees at the family-friendly event, where they got to enjoy live music, the kid zone and all the chili they could eat. The annual Chili Cook-Off started in 2004 with all proceeds directly benefitting The Exceptional Foundation so that they can continue to further enrich the lives of individuals with special needs. In recent years, it has been named as Best Community Event by Mountain Brook Magazine and has been attended by over 12,000 people.
Waverly Advisors became involved in the Foundation when one of the Firm’s client consultants and certified financial planner Drew Gearhart joined the Junior Board. He got the rest of the Firm excited about their mission and in 2017, the Firm participated in the Chili Cook-Off for the first time and has tried to stay involved every year since. Even now, Drew still serves on the Board and MaryPat Peeples, CFP® serves on the Junior Board.
With a passion for serving the community beyond being financial advisors, the Firm has been a proud supporter of The Exceptional Foundation and understands that it’s important to give back to and support the Greater Birmingham community. You can read more about The Exceptional Foundation here.
