Matt Aston joined Waverly Advisors in October of 2025 as an IT Security Engineer in the Birmingham, Alabama office. He brings years of experience in cloud security, compliance, and information systems administration, with extensive expertise in Microsoft environments and enterprise security architecture. Before beginning his career in cybersecurity, Matt served in the United States Army, where he finished two tours to Afghanistan and developed the discipline, leadership, and attention to detail that continue to define his professional approach today. He is passionate about building secure, scalable systems and helping Waverly strengthen its defenses while maintaining operational excellence.
Outside of work, Matt cherishes spending quality time with his wife and their three children. He also enjoys being outdoors, fishing along the Gulf Coast, and playing a good game of chess.
