Jake Barton joined Waverly Advisors in November of 2025 as Partner, Wealth Advisor following the acquisition of select Promus business lines by Waverly Advisors, LLC. Before his current role, Jake was a portfolio manager in the alternative investing space, helping run Promus’ hedge fund platform and also led Promus’ managed futures strategy. Prior to Promus he was the director of UCITS projects and a member of the investment committee at Efficient Capital Management. He also served as a surface warfare officer in the United States Navy with a nuclear power subspecialty and spent two years as assistant professor of Naval Science at Northwestern University.
Jake holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. with distinction from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Jake lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois with his wife, Emily, and their eight children where they spend many hours on fields and courts enjoying sporting activities. Jake and his wife are also very involved in their children’s academics at many levels and active in their church where Jake serves on the Financial Advisory Board.
